Spouse visa is a type of permit which typically grants the right to reside, but often comes with a long list of conditions which must be met in advance. Unfortunately, simply being married often isn't sufficient to qualify for a spouse visa.
It can be extended for another 30 months if you meet certain eligibility conditions. Holding a Partner Visa is the first step towards Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and, eventually, British Citizenship. To get a Spouse visa, you must submit proof to the home office that you and your partner can meet the financial requirements. You must have a combined annual income of 18,600 pounds and in case you have children you must have proof of having additional income to support them as well. The income requirements can be met by combining both your incomes and your savings.
